Sign in front of buildingThe Texas Institute for Reproductive Medicine & Endocrinology (TIRME) was established in 1983, in response to the founders' perception of need for an institution which could offer complete, efficient and economical care of classic endocrine disorders and nonsurgical disorders of the male and female reproductive systems. The Institute was founded by former members of the Department of Reproductive Medicine and Biology at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston (UTMSH) and it became an affiliate of the University of Texas Health Science Center, Houston. At UTMSH they were engaged in teaching, research, and patient care in the specialty of Reproductive Medicine and Endocrinology. Currently the staff of the Institute is engaged primarily in application of latest advances in medical sciences towards clinical care of patients with hormonal disorders and in research directed towards solution of clinical problems. The members of the staff serve on a variety of advisory boards and participate in clinical and scientific meetings, workshops and symposia.
